Sugar Bush Fair at Spring Valley March 16 and 17

The Sugar Bush Fair at Spring Valley is going organic once again.

The 29th annual event, presented by Whole Foods Market in Schaumburg, is set for 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17, at Spring Valley, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road. The delicious outdoor breakfast that includes pancakes with maple syrup, sausage, juice and coffee is donated by the organic grocer.

The maple sugar centric event will feature demonstrations of syrup making and sap collecting methods used by Native Americans and early pioneers, an authentic Chicago area Native American interpreter, children’s puppet show, hayrides and syrup sales.

“Sugar Bush Fair is always a hit,” said Dave Brooks, manager of nature conservation for the Schaumburg Park District. “Visitors of all ages enjoy seeing how maple syrup is collected and the delicious Whole Foods Market breakfast.”

Pre-sale tickets for the pancake breakfast, now available at the Nature Center, are $3.50 for a half stack and $4.50 for a full stack. Day-of prices are $4 for a half stack and $5 for a full stack. Breakfast is served outdoors under a tent at Merkle Cabin. Admission to the event is free.

Parking is available at Olympic Park, 1675 E. Old Schaumburg Road, with continuous shuttle to the Nature Center. Hayrides will provide transportation between the Nature Center and Merkle Cabin.
