Palatine Library introduces express checkout stations

The Palatine Public Library District recently introduced an express checkout option for patrons on the go.

There are two stations on the first floor of the main library, located at 700 N. North Court, Palatine, as well as a station on the second floor near the reference desk and another in the children’s department.

Visitors can scan their library card, enter their account PIN and follow the touch-screen prompts to check out or renew certain materials, review account details and confirm or cancel holds. The stations soon will include an option to electronically pay overdue charges. CDs and DVDs in security cases still need to be checked out in the audiovisual department.
