Legally Blonde The Musical

Based on the hit movie, James B. Conant High School presents…Legally Blonde The Musical. It's the story of California sorority girl, Elle Woods who doesn't take "no" for an answer and finds that being true to yourself never goes out of style. An all-singing, all-dancing, feel good musical comedy, Legally Blonde is “one Elle of a show!”

Under the Direction of Josh Nilsson, more than 125 students and faculty have collaborated over a four-month period to create the 2013 Conant musical. Opening night is Friday, February 22 at Conant High School's Plate Auditorium. Tickets are only $8 and available online at: www.ShowTix4U.com.

The Story. When sorority girl Elle Woods is dumped by her boyfriend for someone “serious,” she puts down the credit card, hits the books, and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has ever gone before:

Harvard Law School. Along the way, Elle meets new friends Emmett, a fellow law student, and Paulette, a beautician, while her Delta Nu sisters help her discover the real power of the law.

In its first year on Broadway, Legally Blonde The Musical earned seven 2007 Tony Award nominations, ten 2007 Drama Desk Award nominations, and a 2007 Outer Critics Circle Award. The music and lyrics were written by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin with a book by Heather Hach based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture.

The Music. The perpetually peppy score includes: Omigod You Guys, Serious, Ireland, Chip on My Shoulder, So Much Better, Take It Like a Man, Bend and Snap, Find My Way and more. The Conant cast is under musical direction of Tim Koll, CHS Choral Director. The production features a live orchestra of student musicians under the direction of Kreg Moorehouse, Conant Director of Bands. Conant Alumni and Schaumburg On Stage Choreographer Danielle Zyrkowski created all of the high energy dance numbers.

The Cast. A talented and energetic group of CHS Students leads the show: Elle Woods is played by Carly Gurrieri, Jeremy Gentry as Emmett, Allie Wessel as Paulette, Andre Serbia as Warner, Ally Rajewski as Brooke, Kelly Wargo as Vivienne, Mike Hamrick as Callahan, Emily Miller as Serena, Karolina Rys as Margot, Alyssa Peterson as Pilar, Lindsey Heinritz as Enid and Jared Picchietti as Kyle.

The cast also features: Audrey Rose as Kate, Samantha Dean as Chutney, Cami Myers as The Judge, Christina Chic as Gaelen, Bianca Melone as Leilani, Raina McKenzie as Whitney, Alex Vito as Grandmaster Chad, Matt Emery as Winthrop, Alex Aguilar as Dewey, Luke Cunningham as Pforzheimer, Peter Souri as Aaron, Prachal Patel as Padaman, Matt Cannistra as the Prison Guard, Tucker Nevel as Elle's Dad, Mollie Schroeder as Elle's Mom/Store Manager, Colleen Little as the Saleswoman, Caroline Golbeck as D.A. Joyce Riley, Kaylee Davis as the TV Reporter and playing the Delta NU Sorority Sisters: Natalie Betz, Christina Chic, Bridget Iaccino, Hannah Lullo, Bianca Melone, Ally Rajewski, Audrey Rose, Victoria Rose, and Yuka Wada

The incredible Ensemble includes: Shannyn Fanslau, Casey Fink, Billy Wright, Melissa Schroeder, Lexy Carrell, Matt Mussman, Ciara Stanford, Sophie Nevel, Emily Tokarz, Marissa Fank, Nina Fank, Alisha Hasan, Katrina Miley, Rachel McKenzie, Liza Sarmiento, Morgan Wessel, Jessica Vivirito, Noel Abujaffar, Rebecca Grgurich, Nick Balistreri, Mei-Lin Schreiner, Emily Forster, Benjamin Hyde, Alexis Cannistra, Anna Hyde, Kevin Wijas and Christian Hyde.

The Production Staff and Crew. An army of students are producing the sets, costumes, lighting, sound and marketing for this production of Legally Blonde The Musical under the direction of Linda Patino, (Art Director), Dave Torpe, (Set Director), Jennifer Lange, (Costume Director), and Kevin Shane (Tech Director).

The show opens on Friday, February 22, at the Conant

Plate Auditorium. Additional evening performances at 7 pm include: Saturday, February 23, Friday, March 1, and Saturday, March 2. There will be a Matinee on Saturday, March 2 at 3 pm. Running time is approximately: 2:30.
