Youths aged 14 to 18 (or 14-22 with an individualized education plan) can get a paid, part-time work experience over the summer through the Lake County Board's Summer Youth Employment Program. Applicants are matched with local public or nonprofit worksites and gain experience while earning a pay check. Applications are available online, or at the Lake County Job Center in Waukegan. The deadline for applications is Feb. 28. New public or nonprofit worksites are also needed to host youth workers. Visit www.lakecountyjobcenter.com.
