American Legion holds baggo tournament

The Sons of the American Legion (S.A.L.) are holding a baggo tournament which is open to the public on Sunday, Sunday, February 24th starting at Noon at the American Legion Hall 122 West Palatine Road in Palatine to raise funds for Legion Family Charities.

“Come out, play some bags and have some fun,” said Garrett McNally, S.A.L. Commander. “You'll be able to participate in a bags tournament and enjoy some great food. To go along with the tournament, we'll have a rubber duck toss and raffles.”

Pre-registration is available at the American Legion with the bartender in the clubroom. Registration on the day of the event, if spots are available, begins at 11:00 AM. Advance registration is encouraged since a limited number of teams can participate.

Teams of two will be able to register their team for $25.00. Entry fees entitle the team to participate in the tournament. Cash prizes will be awarded for first and second place. Food will be available for competitors and guests in the clubroom.

The Sons of the American Legion was created in 1932 as an organization within the American Legion. The S.A.L. is made up of boys and men of all ages whose parents or grandparent served in the United States military and became eligible for membership in the American Legion. There are currently 300,000 members of the S.A.L. in this country and abroad.

The Palatine Chapter holds their monthly general meeting on the first Saturday of the month at 10:30 AM at the American Legion Hall on Palatine Road in Palatine.
