Schaumburg Park District Board of Commissioners recognized current and past Schaumburg Park Board Commissioners, Schaumburg Park Foundation trustees and committee members for their outstanding service and contributions to the District during the past fifty years at the Feb. 14 Park Board Meeting at Schaumburg Golf Club, 401 N. Roselle Road.

Park Board President Bob Schmidt led the introductions and presentations with help from Park District Executive Director Tony LaFrenere. The meeting included speeches from Village of Schaumburg Village President Al Larson and Jerry Handlon and Jean Schlinkmann, past executive directors of the Park District.

A photo retrospective highlighted fifty years of Park District successes during the presentations.

Schaumburg Park District Park Board meets at 8 p.m. the second Thursday of every month at the Jerry Handlon Administration Building. The District will honor an organization each month during its fiftieth anniversary. The next meeting on March 14 will honor School District 54, School District 211 and Harper College.
