• Ryan T. Graf, 29, of the 9N500 block of Flora Drive, Elgin, was arrested after a traffic stop just before 4 a.m. Monday on the 200 block of North Randall Road and later charged with unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owners Identification card, possession of ammunition without the identification card, possession of marijuana, disobeying a traffic sign and driving without a license, according to a police report. Officers found a loaded handgun in Graf's glove compartment. He was also found with about 3 grams of marijuana. Graf paid $150 bond and is due in court March 14 at the McHenry County Courthouse in Woodstock.

Batavia

• Batavia police served a warrant on a theft charge at 8:22 a.m. Friday to Hilmon R. Carr, 20, of the 1100 block of Birch St., Elgin, police said. The incident happened Dec. 28, according to Kane County court records.
