The function of Township trustee is to approve expenditures set forth by the executives committee. Therefore, my #1 issue would be that where-ever possible, bids and purchases of equipment and services should be open and recorded for the voters to evaluate. Currently this is not happening in a timely manner.
My #2 issue is to be part of the discussion in defining the Townships? roll, as it relates to services provided by the City of Aurora, and Kane County Governments.
As Trustee my goals and objectives would be: Openness and Reliability for the good of the Township council.Bi-partisanship for the good of the Township residents, and 'to be fair and compassionate for the good of the less fortunate.
The roll of township government has been described by Illinois law some time ago. The care of the indigent in rural areas not covered by city or county; Land and property assessment; Road and bridge maintenance in the township areas. I see no reason to change the law as long as Township government is providing a cost effective service.

What makes Township Government so workable is that the people who run it live in the township neighborhoods. City and County bureaucracies are usually to slow to react to the needs of the residences; snow removal and emergency road repair for example. One area of possible consolidation with the County would be property tax assessments, but I don't know if the County is any more efficient than the Township Assessor's office. Law enforcement within the Township is an issue that should be considered. The City Police force has the personnel and the resources to cover enforcement, since Aurora encompasses most of the Township areas.
What makes my background and experience desirable as the best Trustee candidate is:My life experiences as a City and Township resident since 1974, and my civic participation within the neighborhood.35 years guiding government and industry to new technologies which ultimately benefit the voters and residences of Aurora Township.Copyright © 2014 Paddock Publications, Inc.
