From the maintenance of our streets to the water supplies.Questions Answers What makes you the best candidate for the job?Experience, Dedication and Commitment With almost 10 years serving the people of this village; sitting on 3 board commissions and as a Village Trustee as well as my commitment and dedication to volunteering makes me the best candidate.Given the delicate balance between the need for revenue and over-taxing local businesses, what is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.It is always important to work towards lowering our village's sales tax. The village of Lake in the Hills is fortunate to have department heads, directors and a village board that is driven to provide quality services and programs while keeping our taxes the lowest in the county.Talking with your friends and neighbors, what seems to be their biggest public safety concern? Explain the concern as you see it, and discuss how you think it should be addressed.The biggest public safety concern would be keeping our children safe. LITH Parks and Rec. and surrounding communities provide excellent sports programs. This not only keeps our children fit, it provides a safe place to hang out. I believe we should continue to support and offer programs of this nature.In these tight economic times, municipal budgets have to be prioritized. Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?As I mentioned above, This Village is fortunate to have department heads, directors and a village board that prepare budgets that provide quality services and programs without any compromise. Staff continues to look at ways to build efficiencies within its departments without adding to its budgets.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Good question, but I cannot think of anything at the current time.
