Candidate's Key Issues

Key Issue 1

I want to join this winning team where Dupage Township partners with youth organizations to make sure the Dupage Township Children go down the right path of life. Dupage Township belives it's cheaper to educate a youth than fix an adult

Key Issue 2

I want to join this winning team where they have not raised the tax levy in 4 years and even though the economy has not taken off yet. When Dupage Township has seen a large increase of people still struggling and have seen an increase in residents having to use our General/Emergency Assistance Programs which assists them in paying their ultility bilss and / or mortage/ rent. Dupage Township has stepped up to service more residents without having to take in any more money.

Key Issue 3

I want to join this winning team where Dupage Township have given out food for more than 15,000 visits and wants to help as many people that need the food pantry.

Questions & Answers

Name the three most important goals or objectives this board should tackle in the coming term. Prioritize them, and briefly discuss why you believe each to be critical, and how the board should go about addressing them.

1. I want to join this winning team where Dupage Township want to continue to grow relationships with busunessess, we also plan to expand our reach by looking at different opportunities to help those in need. 2. I want to join this winning team where Dupage Township needs to continue to grow our diverse senior programing, being as we have seen a growth in our senior population. We feel that our diverse senior population needs to continue to have a strong involvement in programs offered by the Levy Center to ensure they stay actice and social. 3. I want to join this winning team where Dupage Township needs to be able to collect the amount of food for over 15,000 visits per year, Duapage Township is less than 1% of the residents taxes and the township does not have the resources to pay for that amount of food on our own.

In the 21st Century, with municipalities gobbling up vacant land, why are townships needed? Should they be serving a new role? If so, what?

I want to join this winning team where Dupage Township is the first township in the state of Illinois to elimate the road district in the past 30 years. The Dupage Township has already modified their role. With having the largest food pantry in Will County and has over 15,000 visits last year.

What should be the primary responsibility of township government?

The Primary responsibilty of the Township is being a safety net for the people.

In these hard economic times, can you identify some township expenses/programs that could be trimmed or eliminated to reduce the tax burden?

I want to join this winning team where they feel that being as they haven't raise the tax in 4 years, even though we have seen dramatic increse in the food pantry. General/Emergency ASsistance housing, youth services, pace services, senior programing, job fairs, that would be detrimental to trim or elimate programs to residents of Dupage Township. All this is done and still less than 1% of ther residents taxes,

What specific background or experience do you bring that makes you the best qualified candidate to serve as an elected official in the township?

In my 46 years of living in Dupage Township, I have seen a lot of changes. As a collector my main goal is to keep the towns cemetaries(in which early settlers and veterans are laid to rest)up so that we show how much we appreciate all that they have done for Dupage Township.
