Harlem Wizards to perform at S. Elgin school

On Friday, Feb. 15, the world famous Harlem Wizards will put on a show with their slams, world-class tricks, precision teamwork and theatrical style humor as they play a game against local school teachers, administrators and community members, including South Elgin police and firefighters.

It will be the Wizards only appearance in the Fox Valley area.

The show will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kenyon Woods Middle School, 1515 Raymond St. in South Elgin. Doors will open at 6 p.m. The program is sponsored by Cotton Ford and Mike Kenyon and Kenyon Brothers Farm.

Prior to the show, the Wizards will host an all-school assembly, where they will reinforce the school’s “Respect Others, Act Responsibly” (ROAR) theme, as well as encouraging students to always do their best academically.

Throughout the day, members of the Harlem Wizards also will be bringing their message promoting academics first at assemblies in several Elgin Area School District U-46 elementary schools.

In an effort to further build a sense of community, Kenyon Woods Middle School will be donating a percentage of the profits to the Chicagoland Dog Rescue.

Advance tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the school or online at www.harlemwizards.com. Tickets purchased at the door cost $12.
