Wolves shut out Bulldogs 3-0

A pair of goals from forward Michael Davies and a 23-save shutout from goaltender Matt Climie propelled the visiting Chicago Wolves to a 3-0 victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs Friday night at Copps Coliseum.

Defenseman Kevin Connauton also scored for the Wolves, who won for the ninth time in their last 12 outings.

The Wolves (23-15-3-2) got off to a blazing start in the first period with Davies beating the Bulldog defense to the puck and then beating Bulldog goalie Cedrick Desjardins (7-13-2) top shelf just 2:51 into the game.

Just 38 seconds later Connauton tipped in a puck shot from the boards to make it 2-0 heading into the second.

Davies wrister made it a 3-0 lead just 2:28 into the period and after that, it was all Climie, who was sharp in his return to the lineup after missing the past six games due to injury.

Climie (11-11-1) and the Wolves weathered a late pick-up in play by the Bulldogs (15-24-1-5) to notch their fourth straight win in Hamilton.
