The Palatine High School Pirate Booster Club presents "Catch the Pirate Spirit," the group's annual dinner and auction fundraising event, from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22 at The Cotillion Banquets, 360 S. Creekside Ave., Palatine.
The event includes hors d'oeuvres, dinner, cash bar, door prizes, 50/50 raffle, prize raffle, live entertainment, DJ, silent auction and live auction.
Tickets are available at www.phspirateboosters.com for $55 each, or a table of ten seats can be purchased for $500.
The dinner and auction is open to all, you do not need to be a member of the booster club to attend. Dress is casual; attendees are encouraged to wear anything from their favorite "Pirate Spirit" gear to their favorite gown or tux, or anything in between.
The annual dinner auction has been enhanced this year with the addition of entertainment provided by Ken Mate, a standup comedian and magician. Ken will provide entertainment before and during the dinner hour. Additional musical entertainment will be provided by Entertainment Productions.
Through the generosity of booster members and community supporters, the auction items available at this year's event provide something for everyone.
One of the items available for bid this year is an Emmy Awards package of two tickets to the 65th primetime Emmy Awards Show on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.
This award winning prize has been donated by the five teens who founded Food 4 Thought — Thomas Judd from Palatine High School and four of his friends from Barrington and Cary-Grove high schools — to support the charity Blessings in a Back Pack. A few of the other amazing prizes donated to this year's event include 4 VIP tickets and meet and greet passes to see Bill Cosby on Oct. 25 at the Chicago Theater, along with transportation from your home to the theater, and back again after the show.
Other items include four tickets to the One Night of Queen tribute concert on March 8 at the Akoo Theater in Rosemont, four box seat tickets to a Chicago White Sox game, and greens fees and carts for four at Makray Memorial Golf Course. Two of the popular experience prizes that have been donated this year include a Palatine Police Department ride along with tour, and the opportunity to be Palatine Mayor for a Day.
The annual dinner and auction is the main fundraising event for the PHS Pirate Boosters, providing funds for scholarships and programs that benefit all students at Palatine High School. For more information, visit www.phspirateboosters.com, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are unable to attend please consider making a direct donation to support the PHS Pirate Boosters. Donations can be made online at www.phspirateboosters.com.
The Palatine High School Pirate Booster Club exists to support and enrich the high school experience for students while they attend Palatine High School.
