On March 9, Argonauts Football and Cheer will be represented by 34 student/athletes at the Midwest Regional Little Scholars banquet held at the Schaumburg Convention Center. Pop Warner Little Scholars Inc. (PWLS) is the only national youth sports organization in America that requires its participants to perform adequately in the classroom before permitting them to play.

Argonauts football and cheer believe that the standards we have set give these children a sense of responsibility and an appreciation for academics and athletics that will help them develop later on in life. Each year, the most academically accomplished Pop Warner kids compete for Academic All-American status. This process begins at the association level and up through each of the eight Pop Warner regions to the national level. Our 34 student/athletes who will be attending were selected because of their 96% or above GPA and the countless hours of community service, musical interest and other extra curricular activities they have performed to earn them the right of being called Pop Warner Little Scholars. Please visit our website www.algonquinargonauts.com for a complete listing of our Little Scholars.

We take the scholastic part of our program very serious and one way we are showing the community our commitment is through our Argo's Give Back Book Donation. We have donated over 500 hard cover books to many schools in District 300 including Carpentersville Middle School, Parkview, Gilberts Elementary, Dundee Highlands, Algonquin Lakes, Liberty Elementary, Westfield and many more will receive books soon. We hope to distribute well over 1000 books by the time we are done. If you know of a school in need of new books please contact argostaff@algonquinargonauts.com. We are happy to help anyone in need.

Argonauts Football and cheer has online registration now at www.algonquinargonauts.com. We will also hold our first walk in registration on February 23rd at the Dundee Park District lobby located at 665 Barrington Ave. in Carpentersville. We have a very affordable payment plan that will allow you to sign up your child for as little as $50.00 and your first payment will not be until April 15th.

We are an established program who belongs to the community and we plan on continuing to grow in our neighborhoods of Algonquin, Lake In The Hills, Carpentersville, Dundee, Sleepy Hollow, Huntley and Gilberts.
