Timbercrest Park in Schaumburg open for ice skating

Schaumburg Park District’s Timbercrest Park, 120 W. Beech Drive, is now open for ice skating from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The district also offers ice skating when conditions are favorable at Gray Farm Park, 163 N. Walnut Lane; Lance Creek Park, Summit Drive and Weathersfield Way; and Volkening Lake, 900 W. Schaumburg Road.

Ice skating is unsupervised at Timbercrest Park, Gray Farm Park and Lancer Creek Park. Supervised skating and a warming shelter are available at Volkening Lake through Feb. 17, weather permitting.

Ice skating is only available at parks when conditions are safe and indicated by a green flag. Ice skating conditions are available at parkfun.com and updated only when conditions change.

Those interested in ice skating should always check the flag at arrival before going on the ice. Red flags indicate dangerous skating conditions and the location is closed.
