By Associated Press

The FBI and U.S. Marshals Service are offering a $10,000 reward for an Indiana convicted murderer who was mistakenly released in Chicago after court appearance.

The FBI announced the reward on Friday for information leading to the apprehension of Steven L. Robbins. The 44-year-old Gary, Ind., native was serving a 60-year sentence when he was transferred to Illinois to face a drug charge, which was dismissed. Robbins was taken to the Cook County jail on Wednesday and was released hours later, instead of being sent back to Indiana to continue his murder sentence.

A wanted poster describes Robbins as "armed and dangerous."
