The Lake County sheriff office has announced the next Citizen Police Academy course starting March 7.

Participants will have the opportunity to see how the sheriff’s office operates.

The academy is a 10-week program with classes running approximately three hours each on Thursday evenings. Each class begins at 6:30 p.m. and students graduate May 23.

The academy is offered free to Lake County residents. Participants must be 21 years of age or older, be of good moral character, and have no felony convictions.
