No injuries in West Dundee garage fire early Thursday

By

No injuries were reported in a fire that broke out early Thursday in a detached residential garage in West Dundee, authorities said.

The West Dundee Fire Department responded about 12:45 a.m. to the two-and-a-half car garage on the 400 block of Highland Avenue, Fire Chief Randy Freise said.

A total of 14 firefighters battled the blaze in 5-degree weather and brought it under control in about 15 minutes. West Dundee crews received assistance from Carpentersville, East Dundee, Elgin and Rutland Dundee, Freise said.

Investigators were still working to determine the cause of the fire. Damage estimates weren’t yet available.
