The College of DuPage Office of Student Financial Assistance will host a free Financial Aid Workshop on Thursday, Feb. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Student Resource Center, Room 2000, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn. This free session is open to current and prospective students, parents, and community members.
The evening will begin at 7 p.m. with a general overview presentation of financial aid, including types of aid available, how to apply, the financial aid process, award letters and verification. This program is available in English and Spanish.
From 6 to 8:30 p.m., financial aid specialists will be on hand to answer questions and assist participants in filling out the 2013-2014 Free Application for Federal Student Aid. In order to submit these forms, students (or parents of dependent students) must bring their 2012 federal tax return, 2012 W-2 forms, records of untaxed income, and investment/asset/business values. In addition, students and/or parents should apply for a Federal Student Aid PIN number prior to the session at www.pin.ed.gov.
