Fish, Grayslake North rally past Woodstock

A.J. Fish scored a game-high 19 points, and Grayslake North’s boys basketball team rallied to hand visiting Woodstock its first loss in Fox Valley Conference Fox Division play.

The Knights pulled out a 63-57 victory, overcoming a 43-42 deficit after three quarters. Danny Mateling added 15 points and Nick Carmody chipped in 9 for Grayslake North (11-5, 2-1), which outscored the Blue Streaks 21-14 in the fourth.

It was the Knights’ eighth win in their last 10 games. Both losses during the run were on buzzer-beating shots.

Woodstock (13-5, 3-1), which had won 12 of its last 13 games, was led in scoring by Jordan Turner with 15 points.

Crystal Lake Central 75, Grayslake Central 53: Corban Murphy scored 18 points for the host Tigers in the Fox Valley Fox Division game.

Crystal Lake Central improved to 15-2 and 3-1 in the FVC Fox.

Grayslake Central’s Danny Reed led all scorers with 20 points, as the Rams fell to 2-14 and 0-4 in the division.
