Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is turning his attention to his re-election bid in 2015.

Documents filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections show Emanuel raised more than $567,000 for his campaign fund during the quarter that ended in December. The fund has more than $1.6 million cash on hand.

Crain's Chicago Business reported the fundraising effort is an indication Emanuel will run for office again in February 2015.

John Kupper is a spokesman for the mayor. He says Emanuel is halfway through his first term and "it's time to look ahead."

Emanuel is a former investment banker and White House chief of staff who helped raise money for President Barack Obama's re-election.

He raised more than $14 million for his 2011 mayoral race.
