Program at Drury Lane teaches girls self-esteem

“Happy to Be Me!,” a luncheon program for 10- 14-year-old girls that focuses on positive body image and finding truth in mixed media messages, will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Drury Lane Conference Center in Oakbrook Terrace. It’s sponsored by The Robert Crown Center for Health Education. The event will feature writer, “Today” show contributor, and body image expert Leslie Goldman. She will share confidence tips, give a behind-the-scenes look at magazine airbrushing of celebrity images, and provide “take home” activities. The fundraising event is $50 per person, with proceeds going to support The Robert Crown Center’s mission. To register, go to robertcrown.org
