Dining events: Cafe's new tacos a taste treat

Game-changer tacos

Tropical Smoothie Cafe has a new flavor in the form of hot eats — fish and chicken tacos. Choose grilled tilapia or grilled chicken and top it with Caribbean salsa, mango and pineapple, jicama, red peppers, jalapeno and cilantro, served in a flour tortilla and topped with a chili-lime cilantro spread and lettuce. Now through the end of March, grab two tacos for $4.99 or add a side and soda for $5.99. You also can't go wrong with the new smoothie flavor — passion fruit.

I Dream's little dream

I Dream of Falafel celebrates an original dreamer, Martin Luther King Jr., with a free four-piece side of falafel for kids ages 12 and younger. From 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on MLK's holiday — Monday, Jan. 21 — kids can choose from original, vegetarian or sweet potato falafel. Limit one per child.

Check the chalkboard

The chef has spoken at Pinstripes with new menu items highlighted on a rotating basis. Now through March 6, executive chef Cesar Gutierrez will list his recommended dishes on a chalkboard. Entries may include the White Marble Farm Grilled Pork Chop or barbecue chicken pizza. Beer lovers may take to the Green Line Pale Ale — a good potential pairing. Or try PB&J Gelato off the kids menu.
