Youth from Maine Eagles Wrestling Club scores big

Brendan Swarbrick of Park Ridge, age 12, is a member of the Maine Eagles Wrestling Club located in Park Ridge.

During the past summer he participated in the National Championships of USA Wrestling in Utah in both Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling. Brendan was fortunate enough to medal in both events.

Brendan placed 4th in Freestyle Wrestling and 8th in Greco-Roman Wrestling earning All-American Certificates in both wrestling disciplines by the governing body of USA Wrestling. Additionally, he was listed 7th in the nation by USA Wrestling as a “U.S. Future Olympic Team Member”.

This season Brendan is wrestling folk style for the Maine Eagles Wrestling Club and has compiled the current record of 14-0. Brendan's goal is to reach the Illinois State finals which will be held March 7-9, 2013 at the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford.
