Enter your favorite chocolate treat in baking contest

There are three basic food groups: milk chocolate, dark chocolate and white chocolate.

Mix them all together and you may have the winner for this year's fifth annual "Sweet Treats" Baking Competition at the 10th annual Chocolate Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Neuqua Valley High School Freshman Center, 3220 Cedar Glade Drive, Naperville.

The "Sweet Treats" Baking Competition will be judged on taste, appearance and creativity. Contestants may submit cookies, brownies, candies, bars or cake. Chocolate is a requirement for this competition. All items must be on site between 10 and 11 a.m. the day of the competition. No refrigeration is available, so participants should bring items that can be on display at room temperature. Winners will be announced at 1:15 p.m.

Local celebrity judges for the competition include: Naperville Mayor George Pradel, Joanna Cook from Momma Cuisine, Naperville Fire Chief Mark Puknaitis, Naperville police Chief Bob Marshall, CLTV anchor Dolly McCarthy, Naperville Sun food reporter Judy Buchenot, Edward Hospital Chief Executive Officer Pam Davis, Chef Terrell Cole from Sullivan's Steakhouse, Stephanie Penick of Positively Naperville and Annette Wehrli of Naperville Trolley and Tours.
