Lavelle Law, Ltd Adds 16th Attorney

Lavelle Law, Ltd of Palatine has announced the hiring of attorney Jennifer S. Burt of Chicago. Burt joined Lavelle Law on December 27th and will concentrate her work in the Commercial Litigation Practice Group. She becomes the 16th attorney in the firm.

Burt comes to Lavelle Law from Askounis & Darcy, PC (formerly Askounis & Borst, PC) where she has been a Senior Associate. She has been with that firm for just over five years. After receiving a BA in Journalism from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, Burt received her JD from the John Marshall Law School in 2007. She had served as an Extern for Circuit Court Judge Diane Larsen in Cook County, and clerked at Gomberg, Sharfman, Gold & Ostler, PC.

“Jennifer brings a great deal of litigation experience to our firm,” said Lavelle Law, Ltd. partner Matthew Sheahin. “She has handled cases of significant stature and we are fortunate to bring someone of here background and capabilities to our Commercial Litigation Practice Group.”

For her part Burt welcomes the opportunity to join a growing firm with the broad base of practice groups that Lavelle Law offers. “I've been impressed with the attorneys at Lavelle Law and the manner in which the firm has been carefully cultivated for growth. I look forward to contributing to their continued success.”
