Batavia bank robbed at gunpoint

Local police and FBI officials are looking for an armed man who robbed a bank in Batavia on Saturday morning.

At 10:08 a.m., Batavia police responded to an armed robbery at Old Second National Bank, 1078 E. Wilson St. Police were notified by an alarm call from the bank, according to a release from Batavia police.

The offender displayed a black semiautomatic handgun and an unknown amount of money was stolen. No injuries were reported.

The offender is described as a white male, approximately 25-30 years old and between 5-foot-9-inches and 5-foot-10-inches tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head, a black scarf covering his face and blue jeans.

Police said the man may have left the area in a white or light colored small 4-door sedan.
