Harpers new manufacturing program wins award

Harper College's new Advanced Manufacturing program has been named Exemplary Initiatives winner for Community and Workforce Needs by the University of Nebraska-based National Council of Instructional Administrators. The national award recognizes innovative workforce training programs. Harper's Advanced Manufacturing program, which partners with more than 70 area manufacturers to place students into paid internships, was awarded a $13 million federal grant this fall to expand the program to community colleges statewide.
