Golf Center Des Plaines Named Top 50 Range

For the eleventh year in a row, the Golf Range Association of America (GRAA) have named Golf Center Des Plaines one of the top 50 golf ranges in America. The list previously included 100 ranges. The announcement was made by Rick Summers, Chairman & CEO of GRAA, publishers of the leading trade magazines in golf. “Facilities named to the Top 50 list for 2012 have distinguished themselves in the areas of teaching and training, operations, and community outreach programs,” said Summers.

Open year round, the Golf Center Des Plaines range features three tiers of 80 heated and covered hitting bays. A state-of-the-art, computerized, automated tee-up system allows golfers to custom set their tee height, up to a full 2”. Balls pop up automatically, which keeps the golfer from bending over and helps hold their swing position from shot to shot. The 300 yards of targeted outdoor landing area allows golfers to track the full flight of every drive. The range has 12 grass practice tees and a separate 1-1/2 acre short-game area. Golf Center Des Plaines also has a lighted, par-3, 9-hole course, with holes that range from 80 to 200 yards, and hazards that include a lake, hills, prairie grass, and berms.

In the Golf Center Des Plaines clubhouse are Dream Golf Pro Shop, GolfTEC instruction center, and Club Casa Café and Sports Bar. Dream Golf Pro Shop carries a large inventory of name brands and offers expert club fitting, rentals, and demo clubs. GolfTEC offers the number one golf lesson in America using industry-leading technology to provide specific data on a golfer's swing.

“It's a great honor to be named one of the Top 50 practice centers and learning facilities,” said Brian Panek, Manager of Golf and Facilities. “Our range is open year round and is perfect for everyone from the golf purist to the beginner,” Panek said.

The Golf Center Des Plaines is located at 353 N. River Road, one block north of Golf Road. For more information call 847-803-4653, or visit www.dpparks.org.
