Welcome to another year of the Daily Herald Leadership Team, our salute to teenagers who go above and beyond their own interests to involve themselves in their school and their community.

We call them "leaders" because that is who they are — and what they intend to do with their futures.

These are teens who have seen a need and risen to meet the challenge. We hope you'll be amazed, and inspired, by their accomplishments.

Here are the high school students who make up the Northwest suburban, DuPage County, Lake County and Fox Valley 2012-13 Leadership Teams.
