Meet 2012 Olympic gymnast Jake Dalton Saturday in Elgin

On Saturday, Dec. 22, Jake Dalton, 2012 USA Olympic Men’s Gymnast, will be visiting Spring Hill Gymnastics, 2750 Pinnacle Drive, Elgin. Spring Hill Gymnastics will be hosting a meet-and-greet session with Dalton from 12:15 to 2:15 p.m. It is open to the public.

It will begin with meet-and-greet with photos and autographs from 12:15-12:45 p.m., and “Jake’s Chalk Talk” with question-and-answer session to follow from 12:45-1:30 p.m., followed by more meet-and-greet with photos and autographs from 1:30-2:15 p.m. Photographs for autographing will be available for purchase for $2.

Dalton is an American gymnast and member of the University of Oklahoma Gymnastics and the U.S. National Team. He grew up in Reno, Nev. He represented the United States at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where is was a qualifying floor finalist for Team USA.

He attended Spanish Springs High School while training at Gym Nevada under coach Andrew Pileggi. After graduating, he won an NCAA scholarship to compete for the University of Oklahoma in 2009 where he has earned All-America honors, as well as winning the NCAA men’s gymnastics floor and vault titles in 2011. He was the U.S. National Vault champion in 2009 and 2011, and the Floor Champion in 2011 and the All-Around Gold medalist of the Winter Cup Challenge in 2011. He was a member of the USA team that won the Bronze medal in the 2011 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
