Three members of the Des Plaines Police Department were promoted at Monday night's city council meeting.

Nicholas Treantafeles was promoted from commander to deputy chief of support services; Randy Akin was promoted from sergeant to commander of investigations; and Jeffrey Jacoby was promoted from detective to sergeant.

City Clerk Gloria Ludwig issued the oaths to the officers in the presence of the council. The promotional ceremony may be viewed at the beginning of the City Council meeting rebroadcast on Des Plaines Cable Channel 17 or through webstreaming at http://ec4.cc/vb3bb53a8.
