Allegro Adult Choir spreads holiday cheer through song

On Saturday, Dec. 8, Palatine Park District’s Allegro Adult Choir went caroling at Deer Park Town Center in Deer Park. Under the direction of Brent Boyens, the group traveled to several locations within the mall, spreading holiday cheer through song.

A new session of Allegro begins in January. The group is open to adults and seniors who love to sing in a group and would like to return to ensemble singing. Allegro welcomes experienced singers as well as singers with limited choral experience. The group performs a wide variety of music from classical to Hollywood show tunes. There are also solo and small group opportunities to encourage musical growth.

The winter session runs 7:30-9:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings from Jan. 16 to May 1, rehearsing at Community Center, 250 E. Wood Street, Palatine. The program finale will be a concert at Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center on Friday, May 3.
