Helicopter helps locate suicidal person in Old Mill Creek

Lake Villa police, with the assistance of the Lake County sheriff's office, located a suicidal subject Thursday night after a 24-hour search.
A helicopter from the AIR-ONE Emergency Response Coalition helped in locating the person, whose car was found about 7:25 p.m. near Crawford Road and Kelly Road in Old Mill Creek.

The flight crew used infrared technology to detect the person's body heat. The Lake County sheriff's office then formed assault teams to approach the person's vehicle.
About 8:35 p.m. the person was taken into custody without incident and transported to an area hospital for a mental evaluation.
