GreenFields of Geneva, A Gift for Your Children

Sandy Villwock’s gift to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren turned out to also be a tremendous gift to herself. The mother of five, grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of four, moved to GreenFields of Geneva with her husband Dick earlier this year. The long-time residents of Geneva wished to stay in their community, while freeing their children from the responsibility of having to worry about their future. “We didn’t want to be a burden to our family. GreenFields provided us with the knowledge that we had a beautiful home for the rest of our lives,” said Villwock. “We moved here with our children in mind.”

GreenFields, which opened earlier this year, is a senior retirement community located on a 26-acre campus west of downtown Geneva. GreenFields provides a complete continuum of care including independent living, assisted living, memory support and skilled nursing. GreenFields’ Life Care contract provides guaranteed predictable rates, offering financial security and the assurance that residents have a home for life.

Villwock’s husband passed away in June and she has been embraced and supported by her new friends and neighbors at GreenFields of Geneva ever since. “People have been so kind and wonderful. I feel very blessed to be amongst so many caring people. And my children are relieved to know that I’m not alone,” said Villwock.

On December 6, Villwock opened her apartment during the Holiday Parade of Homes. The event showed our 80 prospective residents the variety of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments available at GreenFields. “I was delighted to welcome prospective residents into my home. I’m so happy to be here, that I want others to have the same opportunity,” Villwock said.

GreenFields of Geneva is a Life Care retirement community located in Geneva, a location that U.S. News & World Report calls one of the country’s “Best Places to Retire.” GreenFields is sponsored by Friendship Senior Options, a local not-for-profit organization which also operates Friendship Village of Schaumburg, the largest continuing care community in Illinois.
