Wheeling High School’s 21-member Jazz Band 1, under the direction of Brian Logan, will perform at the legendary Jazz Showcase on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 806 S. Plymouth Court in Chicago.
Also on the venue that evening is the DePaul University Alumni Big Band, directed by Robert Lark. DePaul takes the stage with shows at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., and the Wheeling High School Jazz Band will perform at 9 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students.
Wheeling’s Jazz Band is the reigning Grand Champion of the Jazz in the Meadows Jazz Festival, and the 2010, 2011 and 2012 winners of the Mark of Excellence Jazz Honors Project.
