HERE: another alternative to Apple's maps

Throwing its hat into the ring for iPhone mapping apps, Nokia has put its technology into its new HERE app. The app provides essentially the same things that users can get by using Nokia's online mapping service. For instance, they can download full walking directions and offline mapping data to access in places with no service. The app also offers some public transit directions, though it does not provide turn-by-turn directions. Overall, it's a fine alternative to Apple's built-in mapping program, but not a must-have replacement. Free, for iOS devices.

SnipSnap: extreme (snapping and) couponing

Coupon clippers who are sick of the scissors can use SnipSnap, a coupon-management app that lets users take pictures of coupons to redeem at different stores. The app also lets shoppers search through coupons that other people have found to take to their favorite stores. Buyers should note that not all stores will take every coupon, and the app helps you keep this in mind by recording app users' success with getting stores to accept scanned coupons. Users should note that they must adjust the privacy settings on any snapped coupon they want to keep private, or else any SnipSnap customer can use it. Free, for iOS devices.
