Montini cruises past Rosary
No. 1 Montini made quick work of Rosary Thursday, shutting out the Royals 22-0 in the first quarter en route to a 57-24 Suburban Christian Conference win in Lombard.
Malayna Johnson had 10 points, 10 rebounds and 8 blocks for the Broncos (8-0, 3-0), who have allowed 2 first-quarter points in three conference games. Emily Cochrane added 9 points, 3 assists and 2 steals, Sara Ross 7 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals and Kateri Stone 7 points.
Batavia 61, Waubonsie Valley 38:
Liza Fruendt scored 22 points for the visiting Bulldogs (6-3), who jumped out to a 19-point first-half lead and coasted past the winless Warriors. Andrea Colin and Morgan Grastorf each scored 11 for Waubonsie (0-8).
Glenbard South 67, Ridgewood 52:
Jenna Brambora poured in 21 points, Stefi Bazigos 14 and the visiting Raiders (7-2, 3-0 Metro Suburban Conference) outscored Ridgewood 45-18 over the second and third quarters.
