Ela Area Public Library in Lake Zurich is offering its "Food for Fines" program. Through the popular initiative, patrons have an opportunity to trade their current library fines to support a local food pantry. The library will accept donations of nonperishable boxed or canned food, paper goods and cleaning supplies as payment for current overdue fines from now through Dec. 30. Restrictions apply. Families in need will receive the donated items. For information, call the library at (847) 438-3433 or visit eapl.org. The library is at 275 Mohawk Trail, near Route 22 and Old Rand Road.
