Aurora teen arraigned on reckless homicide charge

An Aurora teen formally pleaded not guilty Monday to felony charges stemming from a crash that killed Metea Valley High School sophomore Devin Meadows.

Logan Krogman was arraigned before DuPage County Judge Daniel Guerin on one count each of aggravated reckless driving and reckless homicide. Krogman, 16, has been charged as an adult in the Oct. 23 crash.

Police said the accident happened after the teen took his father’s car and four friends for a joy ride. Meadows, 15, was thrown from the vehicle when it crashed into a home and attached garage on Hamman Way in Aurora.

If convicted, Krogman could face up to five years in prison. His next court date is Jan. 28.
