Body found in Indiana that of Calumet City woman
Authorities say they’ve identified a body found in a wooded area in Indiana as that of a Calumet City woman whose boyfriend was charged with murder after she disappeared in October.
The Chicago Tribune reported Monday that the coroner in Indiana’s Lake County conducted an autopsy on Gena Chiodo’s body and ruled that her death was a homicide. The coroner said the 42-year-old woman died of blunt force trauma.
Chiodo’s boyfriend, Donal Clark, was arrested Oct. 17, few days after Chiodo disappeared. He has been charged with murder and concealing a homicide. He is being held without bail in Cook County jail.
Calumet City Police Chief Edward Gilmore said investigators believe Chiodo was killed in her house and that her body was dumped about 25 miles away in Indiana.
