Oakton Community College has selected Bob Nowak as its vice president of business and finance. Nowak will begin Jan. 2 to manage Oakton's business and finance functions, including accounting, business services, facilities, public safety, risk management, and budgeting. In addition to being Oakton's treasurer, he will coordinate the annual college budget, create long-range financial and master plans, recommend tuition, fees, and tax rates, and act as one of the president's principal advisers. A Skokie resident, Nowak has been Skokie's director of finance since 1991 and joined the village in 1984 as its chief accountant. Nowak previously was an accountant for Bertrand P. McAndrew, Accountants, and was an accounting manager for the Aigner Company. Nowak taught governmental accounting at Oakton in 1990.
