Inverness club donates 2 trees to village

The Garden Club of Inverness donated two trees this fall to the village of Inverness.

Trees appropriate for growing in the area were carefully researched by Sally Hard, community involvement chairman, and Melodie Moroney and Linda Novak, her committee, and were purchased with funds raised at the 2011 Garden Club of Inverness Holiday Luncheon.

On Oct. 23, the Barn Nursery planted a “Purple Fountain” European weeping beech tree on the south side of the village hall and an “Autumn Gold” ginkgo at North Park. The Inverness Park District provided a reception party with refreshments for participants and presented a dedication sign acknowledging the garden club’s donation.
