Lindenhurst Early Childhood Center hosts 21st annual Gift of Giving program

The Lindenhurst Early Childhood Center at 309 Granada Blvd., is having its 21st annual Gift of Giving Program from Nov. 26 to Dec. 19.

The center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

You can participate in the following ways:

타 By Dec. 17, drop off gently used clothing and toys to a container in the parking lot for the Christopher House, Allendale, Open Arms Mission, P.A.D.S., The Haven Women’s Shelter, Winchester House, The Olive Branch and others.

타 By Dec. 20, drop off new toys for the holiday hospital delivery. Toys will be delivered to pediatric wards at Stroger, Shriners, University of Chicago, Rush University Medical Center and Mt. Sinai hospitals’ the week before Christmas.

타 Each child will make a care basket for a needy family. They will pack the basket, wrap it and make a special card. Baskets will be delivered to the Lake Villa and Avon Township food pantries, Open Arms Mission, Department of Children and Family Services, and the Lake County Housing Authority.

Lindenhurst Early Childhood Center families are asked to contribute in the following items by Dec. 11: toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, disposable razors, Q-tips and cotton, soap, shampoo, nonperishable foods, brushes or combs and paper towels.

타 A holiday tree will be in hallway with “Adopt an Angel” tags on it. These tags will have the name of a foster child and their wish list. You may pick as many Angels as you would like. Please wrap all items with the wish-list attached. All donations will be delivered to DCFS prior to Dec. 17.
