St. Emily students do well in poster/essay contest

St. Emily students participated in the 2012 Mount Prospect Fire Department Poster/Essay Contest. Students were judged individually by school and grade. First-place school winners were then judged villagewide with all the other schools that participated.

St. Emily School winners are: Andrea Rivera, third place, first-grade poster contest; Camille Martinez, third place, third-grade poster contest; James Denten, first place, sixth-grade essay contest; Kara Dempsey, second place, sixth-grade essay contest; Tyler Lapinski, third place, sixth-grade essay contest; Mary Paczko, first place, seventh-grade essay contest; Holly Schwartz, third place, seventh-grade essay contest; Kaitlyn Denten, second place, eighth-grade essay contest; Justin Baltazar, third place, eighth-grade essay contest.

Students attended an awards ceremony and reception recognizing all the village winners at the village board meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
