Too busy to vote? Shameful!

I was appalled at what I heard on a local radio station the day after the election. Two people called in to say they were too busy to vote for president. They added that they did have time to cast their vote for “American Idol.” They felt that standing in line to vote for president was too inconvenient. There are other countries where people are not allowed to to vote for their leadership, and those citizens may have to stand in line for bread, water or other necessities of life.

Veterans Day, a day to honor those who fought for our freedom, reminds us that it is a privilege to live in a country where we can cast a vote. How dare you say you were too busy!
