WDSRA celebrates 95th St. Center grand opening with Naperville Park District

As a cooperative extension of the Naperville Park District, WDSRA provides recreational services to individuals with disabilities. Coming this winter, WDSRA will offer a variety of programs at the 95th Street Center including fitness, arts, and cooking classes, as well as social clubs and special family events.

The community is invited to stop by the grand opening of the Naperville Park District's 95th Street Center on December 8th from 9-11:30am to get a sneak peek at the newly renovated facility. At the event, WDSRA staff will host an interactive display where attendees can try out a vision simulator giving them a sense of what it is like to be visually impaired. They can also view and handle books written in Braille. The goal of the activity is to heighten sensitivity toward those with special needs, while raising awareness of WDSRA programs and services to residents of south Naperville.

“It has always been our goal to meet the needs of all of the residents of Naperville,” said Nancy Miner, WDSRA Superintendent of Recreation. “We are grateful that the Naperville Park District has included WDSRA programs in its long range plans for the 95th Street Center and look forward to celebrating with them on December 8th.” WDSRA program offerings were selected in response to a survey of participating families in south Naperville.
