That holiday in December may get all the attention, but, let's face it, Thanksgiving is one of America's best holidays.
To celebrate the fall season and the bounty of Thanksgiving, the Elmhurst Historical Museum invites families to make a welcoming Thanksgiving Holiday Wreath during a special craft workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11.

Participants will adorn a Thanksgiving wreath with fall colors, leaves, ribbon and other seasonal decorations. The wreath will be ready to hang on the front door or use as a centerpiece to welcome guests to the Thanksgiving feast.
The drop-in family program takes place in the Elmhurst Historical Museum's Education Center, located just south of the Glos Mansion, 120 E. Park Ave. The cost per project is $3 for members of the Elmhurst Heritage Foundation and $5 for others. The craft is appropriate for children ages 4 and older accompanied by an adult. Adults are welcome to join in the crafting fun. No reservations are required.
Visitors also are welcome to view the Elmhurst Historical Museum's current exhibit, "Centuries of Progress: American World's Fairs, 1853-1982," on display in the Glos Mansion. The exhibit is open 1 to 5 p.m. and admission is free.
