Waterleaf Restaurant Presents 'Cooking With Jean-Louis -- Stock and Sauces

Waterleaf Restaurant in Glen Ellyn continues a series of hands-on cooking classes on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m. with recipes designed to guide your Thanksgiving feast.

During "Cooking With Jean-Louis -- Stock and Sauces," Waterleaf Executive Chef Jean-Louis Clerc will provide step-by-step instruction for each recipe, including cooking tips for preparing the perfect Thanksgiving dinner. Following the group instruction, participants will enjoy the meal they prepared together at Waterleaf, with specially selected paired wine (21 and over). Participants will also receive take-home gifts that include the printed recipes and a special Waterleaf apron.

The "Stock and Sauces" recipes include Basic Stock, Gravy, Apple Mint Chutney, Cranberry Horseradish Sauce and Apple Orange Cranberry Sauce. Participants will also receive traditional Thanksgiving take-home recipes which include Orange and Avocado Salad with Honey Mint Dressing, Herbed Roasted Turkey and Gravy, Baked Chestnut and Ham Dressing, Apple Orange Cranberry Sauce, Parsnips Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans and Pearl Onions with Tarragon Vinaigrette, Pumpkin Orange Tart with Orange Sabayon Cream.

The cooking class cost is $85 per person. Registration is required and places are limited. Call (630) 942-6881 to register.
