Cook Memorial Library District to Debut Their New Community-wide Cookbook "A Library of Recipes: Cook Park and Aspen Drive Cooking Together at a Kick-off Event on November 13

Chef Michael Maddox, formerly of Le Titi de Paris, will amaze you with his culinary skills as he demonstrates how to make dazzling holiday canapés and Chef Jean-Marc Loustaunau from Café Pyrenees will demonstrate his silky smooth Crème Brulee recipe, which can be found in the cookbook. In addition to the chef demos, participants will also have the opportunity to sample delicious recipes from the cookbook and enter a drawing for great prizes. The beautiful, hard-cover cookbook serves up 370 downhome recipes from local residents, businesses and restaurants in 8 different delectable sections. Overflowing with a scrumptious mix of soups, salads, appetizers, side dishes, entrees and desserts, "A Library of Recipes" captures the distinct local flavors of our wonderfully diverse community. The sturdy 3-ring design, one-of-a-kind recipes, and helpful hints blend to create the perfect sampling of all that our library residents have to offer. Each recipe features the name of the person and/or business who submitted it and the community in which they live within the District. That, along with an index of contributors, will make it easy for everyone to locate the favorite recipes of their friends and local residents.

The cookbooks will be sold by the library throughout the holiday season at the Cook Park location, the Aspen Drive location, and on the Bookmobile. It will also be sold at Someone's in the Kitchen and How Impressive in downtown Libertyville; AND for one night only at Café Pyrenees on November 14 from 5 to 8PM at An Evening With the Authors. The cookbook can be purchased and signed by Chef Jean-Marc who contributed three recipes from his repertoire of local favorites at this special book signing. The cost of the book is $15 per copy at all locations. Proceeds from the sales will help to enhance library services and provide more children's programs, computer classes, author visits, enhancements to the Digital Library, additions to our collection and much more!
